About the speaker
Dr. Sebastian Himbert is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Synth-Med Biotechnology Inc., which develops drug-delivery systems built on red blood cells. He is also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence with Dalhousie University’s Pulse Biomed Hub, where he mentors early-stage ventures through commercialization.
Originally trained as a physicist in Germany, Dr. Himbert earned his PhD in Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University, specializing in the biophysics of blood membranes. His research has led to 28 peer-reviewed publications, several patents and the technology behind Synth-Med.
