An in person meet up for all those fighting wealth extraction from the resources and services we hold dear.

​History
In June 2026 over 60 people attended a Zoom call, on how we can all work together to make real, positive change take root.

This event is the in person follow up - though we welcome new attendees in addition, who are hearing about this for the first time. 

Who
Expect to meet pioneers and practitioners across local and regional government, think tanks and campaign groups, sectoral leaders, communities and social business leaders, creatives, funders and academics.

What
In this 4-hour in person event you will hear from those most impacted by wealth extraction and those who have expertise and key knowledge to share on ways to counteract it on the ground.  There will also be plenty of time and opportunity to discuss all this with each other as we work towards the creation of an active network through which to join forces and amplify each others’ work.

In the course of the meeting, we'll cover the:

Wishes, needs and foundations for a network

Why
There is a moment in time in front of us.  We must seize it.  Across the political and media landscape the conversation is turning to the impacts – on individuals and sectors – of extractive financial practices. Yet there remains a largely dissipated movement of people who are unconnected, doing great things in small patches across places and sectors.  The time is now to bring people together to speak out and act as one and combine our diverse, collective skills and influence, as we push against the tide of global extractive practices.

​The planned outcome of this event is a group of first active ‘members’ of a network of people and places who want to support and push each other in this work - active allies with practical and achievable next steps on collaboration and a commitment to drawing more allies into the network.
