Perhaps, one day some time ago, you had the realization that the poetry of your life had been somewhat, or very thoroughly, rearranged into a shopping list. Maybe the question arose: “Have I come to believe what they told me about the world being inanimate? Have I stopped hearing the music of life, and the invitation to dance?”
Lyric // Attunement is a meditative conversation in the lineage of Circling, and a relational art.
In this practice we remember our selves, and our interconnectedness, as they are; as works of art guided by forces of impeccable beauty. In this practice we experience ourselves together in a living world, a living song, both singing and being sung.
These words could be written as mere metaphor, but what is being articulated here is literal and can be known through direct experience. It is the very real, very vast, and often forgotten or dismissed, capacity for human love, compassion, and connection that is the birthright of every person. In order to cultivate, and deepen, this direct experience we practice the art of becoming the art of life, by foregrounding specific truths about our nature:
Human nervous systems are resonant instruments, structured for the direct knowledge of goodness, truth, and beauty
The resonant qualities of the nervous system can be obstructed by past conditioning and mental confusion.
Neuro plasticity is an immutable, lifelong trait which makes tuning the nervous system to more holistic goodness, more fundamental truth, and more astounding beauty, a constant inherent possibility.
We are fundamentally relational beings; Though we have the capacity to know truths about reality directly through our relationship to the planet world kosmos, we can only know truths about humanity through our relationships to each other.
The music of relationality is taking place at several scales simultaneously, from deep within the cells of our body, to the interconnectedness of all the beings on this planet now and through time. Harmony at any scale impacts every other scale.
