​You are cheerfully invited to a Warm Data Lab in San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Park. The Lab will take place on Sunday, August 16, from 12:00pm - 2pm. The Lab will take place in Doughboy Meadow (directions below).

​Please factor in arrival/parking time, aiming to arrive at noon so we can commence the Lab shortly thereafter.

​A Warm Data Lab in Golden Gate Park

​The magic of Golden Gate Park and the curious combinings of a Warm Data Lab come together for this special end 'o summer lab. This is an invitation to hang out, share stories, and slow down together. To arrive as you are, with all your messy complexity and whole selves.

​Step out of fixing, faster, fragmentation, and into a space for collective conversation across contexts, surrounded by boundless life of summer in the park. Create conditions for new perceptions as we navigate seasons of change.

​When we come together to share our stories and listen to one another, we expand our view of life, deepen our understanding of what others in our communities are going through, and perhaps even see fresh possibilities.

​What’s a Warm Data Lab??

​Warm Data Lab experiences have been described as a “kaleidoscope of conversation,” packed with enriching stories, laughter, and insight.

​Warm Data Labs, developed by Nora Bateson, are hosted conversations that explore the interconnections between complex systems. They are not about solving or debating—but about noticing. Through multiple perspectives, we begin to sense the deeper patterns shaping the issues we care about.

​Warm Data Labs can help strengthen and practice our collective ability to perceive, discuss, and hold complex issues.

​What do I need to know?

​This lab will be hosted on a lawn, so please come prepared to sit on a blanket OR bring a folding chair that you can use. We will have some chairs, but you're welcome to contribute if you have a portable seating preference!

​We also recommend that you bring a bottle of water, sunscreen, a hat, or any other items that will help you stay comfortable.

​All are welcome. All ages, all backgrounds. Bring a friend or three!

​No preparation necessary. We'll share stories, as desired, and buzz around from context to context, feeling what emerges, integrates, and disintegrates.

​How to get to Doughboy Meadow:

​Look for the statue and flags (see image on map) as there are no signs:

​* From Fulton St and the Funston Ave side of Park-Presidio, take the path along Park-Presidio until you see the statue and flags.

​* From other parts of the park, walk along JFK Promenade until you see the statue and flags.

​Parking:

​* Best free parking is likely along Fulton St near Park-Presidio

​* Closest garage is the Music Concourse/De Young/Academy of Sciences garage; enter at 10th Ave and Fulton St, see map for routes to the meadow.

​* There is street parking along MLK, Blue Heron Lake Drive, and the western part of JFK (west of Transverse Drive), but finding a spot on a Sunday is challenging.

​

​Transit:

​* MUNI 5, 5R, 28, 28R, and 91 stop at Fulton St. and Park Presidio.

​* The free Golden Gate Park Shuttle runs up and down JFK Promenade between Stanyan and Transverse; it also loops around the Music Concourse.  The closest stop is the Rose Garden.

​* MUNI N-Judah train runs a couple of blocks south of the park, although there's no very direct route across the park from there.
