Dreams For Britain - York Edition
What if imagining the future was something we did together?
Dreams for Britain is a growing movement to uncover a new dream for Britain — one community at a time.
Across the country, we're inviting people from all walks of life to do something radical: to come together and share stories of what this place means to them, to imagine new dreams for where we live, and discover the ideas for change and hope already taking root in our communities. Rather than focusing on what's broken, we create space to ask a different question:
What kind of place do we want to become, by dreaming together?
After inspiring pilot events in London and Swansea, we're bringing Dreams for Britain to York.
Over the course of the evening you'll:
hear inspiring stories from fellow York residents
take part in creative conversations about the future
use your hands to craft new dreams for York
share your own hopes, dreams and experiences (only if you'd like to)
meet people you might never otherwise have met
help shape a hopeful vision for Britain rooted in York's unique character and strengths.
No expertise is needed. You don't need to be political or have all the answers. Just bring your curiosity, your imagination and an openness to listen and be heard.
We'll provide tea, biscuits and a warm welcome.
We'd love to bring together a diverse mix of people from across York, so whether you're involved in your community, running a business, volunteering, studying, creating, campaigning or simply care about where we live, we'd love to see you there.
Places are free but limited, so please reserve your place.
We can't wait to welcome you.
