About Event

Hey friend, you're invited to join No Drama Drama Club. This is a group for folks who love seeing theatre together and yapping about it afterwards—plus, to keep our community safe it's a mask-required event. Think of this like a book club, but for theatre!

Whether you see every show in the city or haven't seen one before—we'd love to have you along. We'll take care of buying your tickets so you can just book with us and show up.

This event is hosted on the unceded land of the Kulin nations. We pay our respects to their elders past and present. If you’re a settler like us, you should be paying the rent.

P.S. This event is 18+ :)

📢 About the show

We're super excited about this new play from local queer playwright and producer Flick (creator of the sexy sci-fi plays: Slutnik). Here's the blurb:

THREE OF THE MOST SEXUALLY INEXPERIENCED BITCHES YOU EVER MET ATTEMPT TO WRITE EROTICA IN YEAR 12

A trio of best friends team up to win a manuscript contest so that they can afford the summer of their dreams. If they can’t win the cash prize, they’re definitely 1000% gonna have the most boring holidays ever and then probably never see each other again because what if they get into different unis??

They’re limited on time and they figure – given their algorithms – that their best chance lies in writing a literary masterpiece about lesbian vampires fucking. And also ****ing and ******ing  <3.

Their ideas about sex, romance and relationships are explored as they write, edit and upload the work. Also... they all have literally 0 IRL sexual experience.

Enjoy the ride!! 👅😝 🤪 🤑 😜

Flick's writing is always brilliantly thoughtful and so so so fun. Plus, the show brings together heaps of award winning and talented designers and collaborators. Definitely one of my highlights of the La Mama program.

💬 No Drama Drama Club Discussion

It generally goes like this, but we might decide to switch it up from time to time!

  1. Housekeeping — Safety mechanisms and venue information

  2. Icebreakers & Introductions — Maybe a little drama game? 👀

  3. First takes — We’ll all share a star rating to the show and jot down some initial thoughts

  4. Group discussion — A chat facilitated by Jenna & Ryan who’ll have some great questions prepared 🤓

  5. Second takes — We’ll write & share our own mini reviews with amended star ratings (or maybe no rating, if that’s how you roll)

  6. Chat amongst yourselves — We’ll pack up but keep the space open to chat to your new friends & theatrical accomplices

From the river to the sea, always was, always will be.
