About Event

Interested in participating in an experiment to learn advanced meditative states in record speed? The jhanas are blissful, therapeutic, and prosocial altered states sometimes described as "MDMA without the drug."

Today, these states are mostly accessible only to advanced meditators. Neurotech startup Jhourney is building tools to make these states accessible to everyone. We've aggregated techniques that seem most conducive for entering jhanas, and developed a few low-tech ideas for how to teach them.

On Wednesday we'd like to playfully explore what a few of these ideas might offer in a few hours of meditation. Starting at 6:30pm, we'll go through:

  • A couple of very brief personality surveys (please bring your laptop!)

  • An overview of the jhanas and some guidance on how to approach them

  • A guided meditation containing several jhana-conducive techniques & some experience sharing afterwards

If you’d like to attend, please sign up with your name and email here.
