Help Shape Durham's Public Safety & Community Trust Initiative
The Durham Human Relations Commission is bringing residents, community organizations, and public safety representatives together for a new kind of conversation — one built on trust, respect, and shared problem-solving.
Before we design this larger community event, we want your voice at the table. You're invited to one of two Stakeholder & Community Working Sessions, where local residents and organizations will help shape the topics, structure, participation, and outcomes of the DHRC's Public Safety & Community Trust Initiative. These sessions build directly on the community feedback already gathered through recent listening efforts — this is where that input turns into action.
Two sessions, held over Zoom to fit your schedule:
Saturday, September 26 | 1:00–2:30 PM
Wednesday, October 14 | 7:00–8:30 PM
This isn't a town hall or public comment forum. It's a neutral, facilitated space centered on connection, collaboration, communication, commitment, and contribution — a chance to better understand one another's roles, name real barriers to trust and civic participation, and build practical, systems-focused solutions together.
