About Event

Welcome

Chemsex is part of many GBTQ men's lives in Berlin. But it can be hard and scary to talk about it openly without judgment. This weekly group offers a confidential, non-judgmental space to explore your relationship with substances, sex, and the environments connected to them, with honesty, peer support, and practical tools, not shame.

You don't need a diagnosis, to identify as "addicted," or to commit to sobriety to be here. If you’re curious or ambivalent, that’s reason enough to start the conversation.

Who is this for?

Adult gay, bisexual, trans, and other men who have sex with men and use substances in sexual contexts, who feel concerned, curious, or ambivalent about their patterns, including those who:

  • Find it hard to stop when they intend to, or have long sessions (24+ hours).

  • Cross their own boundaries and limits, or notice effects on health, work, relationships, finances, or wellbeing.

  • Want change without giving up pleasure, intimacy, or community.

We welcome diversity in age, background, HIV status, relationship style, migration experience, and stage of change. This is not a space that requires you to leave queer or sex-positive communities; it's about finding what truly works for you.

Our approach

Harm-reduction and recovery-oriented, grounded in autonomy and accountability without shame. We don't follow a 12-step model, and we don't prescribe one outcome. Valid goals are understanding yourself and your patterns better, letting go of shame and judgment, moderation and managed use, pauses, and sobriety.

Group agreements

Confidentiality · self-responsibility · no unsolicited advice · no judgment · respect · consent · sober participation · no dealing or arranging sexual encounters through the group.

Important to know before joining

This is a coaching-based peer support group. This is not medical care, psychotherapy, addiction treatment, detoxification, or emergency support, and does not replace professional diagnosis or treatment. If you need medical, psychiatric, or crisis support, please seek appropriate professional or emergency care. For safety, anyone who is intoxicated, psychotic, suicidal, medically unwell, or otherwise unable to participate safely will not be able to join a session.

Participants are asked to arrive sober and stable, and to commit to confidentiality and respect for the co-facilitators and fellow participants.

Not sure if it's for you?

You don't need to know exactly what you want to change or tell your whole story right away. Feeling uncertain is welcome here.

If any of this feels familiar, we'd love to have you. Reach out for a confidential introductory conversation first if you need more clarity.

Marko Javorsek is a Berlin-based transformational schema coach, workshop facilitator, Reiki practitioner, and yoga teacher. Following more than a decade of international work with the United Nations, he chose a path dedicated to helping people understand themselves more deeply, loosen self-limiting patterns, and create meaningful, lasting change. His schema-informed approach explores the beliefs, emotions and coping strategies that shape people’s lives, combining careful listening, thoughtful challenge, psychological curiosity and practical experimentation. Marko offers a supportive, nonjudgmental space for exploring sensitive questions around identity, sexuality, relationships, intimacy, shame and belonging. In this group, he helps participants understand the needs and patterns underlying chemsex, recognise moments of choice, strengthen boundaries and move towards lives that feel more authentic, connected and fulfilling.
