Turn a challenge into a creative concept you are excited to build, and meet potential teammates to build together.
Ever wondered how designers at a global tech company turn an open-ended problem into a product idea? In this 60-minute Day 1 workshop at the FIG AI Design Makeathon 2026, explore how industry creatives approach a challenge and apply those perspectives to your own idea. Yitong will walk you through the design thinking approach she uses in her day-to-day work at Lenovo, and then guide you to put it into practice. Bring curiosity, work through possibilities, and start shaping a direction for your makeathon project.
The workshop is collaborative and runs live on a shared FigJam board. You’ll be placed into breakout rooms with other participants, so there’s no need to come with a team. Please bring a laptop. The activity won’t work on a phone.
About your host: Yitong Wang is a UX/UI designer on Lenovo’s Strategic Design & Innovation team, where she designs AI experiences that work across devices, including Smart Canvas, which launched at IFA 2026. She’s a CCA alum with a background in Human Computer Interaction; When she is not designing, she loves to surf.
