Business idea and model validation

​Ryan Welti (founder, consultant, and writer) will present a workshop on how to ideate and pressure-test three different career or business paths:

• ​sketching 3 distinct paths: product founder, service business, early-stage employee or corporate role

• ​timeboxed journaling (2 min per idea) to get ideas out of your head and onto paper

• ​poke holes: who's the customer, what needs to be true

• ​weigh fractional vs. full-time, product vs. service, how much risk fits your current life stage, etc. to find which idea is most aligned for you

​Business idea and model validation matters since a$200K/year lifestyle business and a $20M venture backed company are completely different paths, and knowing which one you want saves money and time.

​Ryan's first startup was wellness tech, a marketplace for finding and booking wellness retreats. She's now building Casa de Cielé, a luxury bathrobe brand for boutique hotels. She also runs Sun House Studio, where she advises early-stage founders on pitch decks and growth strategy after years in management consulting at Capgemini and Slalom.
