What to Offer Patients When Antidepressants Haven't Worked

Spravato® (esketamine) and/or Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) - many clinicians know these treatments exist. Many are not aware about which patient fits which one, whether insurance covers any of it, or what happens after a referral.
Brigitte Gordon, Journey Clinical's Clinical Director, and Nora Studholme, VP of Marketplace Operations, who leads our Spravato program, will walk through both options, with 15 minutes for questions.
Two Treatment Options:
Spravato® (esketamine) — FDA-approved for treatment-resistant depression and for major depressive disorder with suicidal ideation. In-network with most major commercial plans. Delivered at our certified centers, in therapeutic settings.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) — our sublingual protocol, delivered with a trained therapist across 26 states, for patients who don't meet Spravato criteria or aren't near a center. Medical visits and therapy sessions are covered; medication and part of dosing sessions with therapist are out of pocket.

How to refer and what happens after referral
You keep your patient. Referring practitioners continue managing the patient's care, while Journey Clinical manages the specialized Spravato or KAP treatment. With the patient’s authorization, we coordinate with you and share relevant progress updates so care remains connected.
Who should attend: Psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners · Primary care clinicians · Psychotherapists and counselors · Hospital social work, discharge planning, and case management · IOP and PHP clinical directors · OB/GYNs · Anyone working with patients living with depression.
Want to offer this in your own practice?
If you're a therapist who wants to bring this work into your own practice, we'll cover both routes at the end of the session:
Become a trained KAP provider. Join Journey Clinical's network and offer Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy to your clients. We handle the medical side — patient screening, prescribing, and ongoing medical oversight. Includes clinical training, protocols, ongoing support and community.
Host a Spravato center. Offer Spravato in your existing space. Our medical providers come on site to administer and monitor; you provide the setting and coordination. We handle REMS certification, pharmacy logistics, secure storage, and compliance.
Stay for the Q&A if that's you, or let us know when you register and we'll follow up directly.
