GROWTH & GIST With SA
Growth & Gist with Stephen Akorede
For a while now, many of you have been asking me similar questions.
"Can we sit with you?"
"Can we ask questions?"
"Can we learn from your journey?"
"Can you mentor me?"
Some of you have asked about sales. Others about business, fundraising, leadership, real estate, building teams, surviving difficult seasons and staying the course when the excitement has disappeared. Some simply wanted a room where we could think together.
Well, I heard you. So did the team. And rather than trying to answer everyone individually, we decided to create a room where those conversations can happen every week.
That room is Growth & Gist.
I didn't create it because I have arrived. Far from it. I created it because I am still building. I am still learning. I am still making mistakes. I am still discovering better ways to lead, sell, negotiate, raise capital, build companies and carry vision. Along the way, I've learnt lessons that have cost me money, relationships, opportunities, sleep and sometimes even confidence. I've also seen God's faithfulness in ways I could never have planned. And It would be selfish to keep those lessons to myself.
This won't be another webinar where someone speaks for an hour and disappears. I want this to feel more like sitting across the table from another builder.
Some Thursdays we'll speak about business. Some days we'll unpack sales. Other days we'll wrestle with leadership, branding, negotiation, systems, execution or the quiet disciplines that determine whether a vision survives beyond the excitement of its beginning. We'll answer questions. We'll challenge assumptions. We'll disagree where necessary. We'll think together.
Because I've come to realise that growth is rarely the result of finding another piece of information. More often than not, it comes from one conversation that changes the way you see.
The world doesn't lack content. It lacks spaces where judgement is formed. That's the kind of room I hope this becomes.
If you're looking for quick hacks or overnight success, you'll probably leave disappointed. Building has never worked that way. But if you're willing to think, to ask honest questions, to sharpen your convictions and to become the kind of person who can carry greater responsibility, then you'll always have a seat here.
This is simply my way of giving back to a generation of builders. Whether you're running a business, trying to close your first sale, leading a team, starting from scratch or simply trying to become a better version of yourself, I hope you'll join us.
The greatest companies are built by people who never stop learning. I have no intention of stopping. I hope you don't either.
See you every Thursday.
