About Event

Join us for an inspiring and practical conversation with Dr. Nichole Argo, founder of the Needham Resiliency Network, the TogetherUp Institute, and the ReImagining Us podcast. Nichole will share how her data-driven, community-centered work is helping create spaces across the country where people feel a true sense of belonging, even in challenging times.

  • What really helps people feel connected when the world feels divided?

  • How can insights from social science strengthen local relationships and build a more resilient, more connected Wayland?

  • And what simple, everyday actions can each of us take to help ourselves - and others - feel like we truly belong?

You’ll walk away with a set of “back-pocket” tools you can use right away to foster connection in your own life. This event is not only a chance to learn from Nichole, it’s also an opportunity to meet and interact with fellow Waylanders who care about strengthening our community.

Come be part of the conversation - and be the change that creates a more connected community. All are welcome!

More on Dr. Nichole Argo:

Dr. Nichole Argo is the Founder and Executive Director of the TogetherUp Institute, a Boston-based nonprofit advancing a civic “hub” model to strengthen connection and cooperation in communities across the U.S. Trained as a social psychologist, she has worked internationally and domestically on intergroup conflict and cooperation.

In 2022, she founded the Needham Resilience Network, a model that institutionalizes relationships across diverse local leaders to bridge silos and collaborate on shared challenges. This work was recognized in 2025 with a Bridge Building Innovation Award from the Listen First Project and is now being scaled to other communities.

Dr. Argo has published widely in leading political science and psychology journals, including The Belonging Barometer and The Science of Polarization and Insights for Bridge Building. She serves on the Permanent Monitoring Panel for Conflict and Polarization at the World Federation of Scientists and holds degrees from Stanford, MIT, and the New School for Social Research.
