Closing Reception: Crafting Curiosity, Advancing a Legacy of Agriculture and Making at the Eames Ranch
Join us for the closing reception of Crafting Curiosity, our inaugural Ranch Studios exhibition. This event marks the final opportunity to experience the extraordinary work of twelve artists who participated in this residency celebrating craft and hands-on making.
At 3pm, exhibiting artist Chris Kallmyer, joined by a cohort of local artists, will activate the bells that he created. The performance brings these instruments—developed over several months of design and fabrication—into a collective sound work unfolding within the gallery. We hope you can join us for this distinctive way of marking the exhibition’s close.
Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic refreshments will be served.

The Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity dedicated to advancing the legacy of 20th-century designers Ray and Charles Eames. Over the course of their decades-long partnership, the husband-and-wife duo approached design as a tool for problem-solving and discovery—driven by curiosity, refined through iteration, and always guided by purpose. Their work was wide-ranging, spanning furniture, architecture, film, exhibition design and more, with every project grounded in rigor, joy, and a meticulous commitment to make things better.
