About Event

This is a three-part online workshop taking place on 4th, 6th, and 11th February. You can choose to attend any single session for ₹500, or register for the complete series at a discounted fee of ₹1,200.

Workshop Schedule

Session 2: Charts, Language & Narrative Structure (6th Feb)

● Types of charts and when to use them

● Narrative frameworks for data storytelling

● Hands-on activity to practice


What's included?

● Pre-training materials: Participants will receive access to online materials such as videos, articles, and exercises to prepare them for the training program.

● Virtual, instructor-led training: An expert will guide participants through the core concepts and best practices of data visualisation.

● Post-training handouts: Participants will receive handouts summarising the key learning points and providing additional resources for ongoing development

About the facilitator

Gurman Bhatia is the founder and director of Revisual Labs, India’s first information design studio focused on turning complex data into clear, compelling stories.

​With over 9 years of experience, she has worked across newsrooms, think tanks, and non-profits, including Reuters, Hindustan Times, and leading international media organisations. Since 2021, she has trained 1,500+ professionals in data journalism and visualisation.

​A self-taught coder and designer, Gurman holds a Master’s in Journalism from Columbia University, and her work has won multiple international awards, including the Webby Awards, Malofiej, ONA, and GEN Data Journalism Awards.
