Building Network Cultures

​Have you ever felt like you don't really belong in any pre-existing culture? I certainly do.

​Balaji once said there is a growing number of people who are "geographically far but ideologically close" as well as "geographically close but ideologically far." In this increasingly online and personalized algorithm-driven worlds, pre-internet ethnic and national cultures are becoming less influential in people's lives and worldviews. But the question is, what comes next? How do we re-centralize around people who share our beliefs and create new cultures?

​This here is a space for us to connect with each other and discuss how we can create new and better cultures based on beliefs and values instead of geography or ethnicity.

​This event will be more of a group discussion than a presentation. I'll talk for a few minutes to introduce some of these ideas, and then we can break out into groups and discuss how we view the future of culture.
