Ellen Nguyen is a community builder, Director in Financial Services, host of the Landed podcast, and author of How You Heal in Your 20s. Ellen moved to the UK from Vietnam at 17 to study, and over the past decade has built a thriving career across Lloyds Banking Group, JP Morgan, Google (contracting), and Mastercard, alongside a community of 40K+ across Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Anh Duong Nguyen is the CEO of Nimi, a social club transforming how people connect with art, culture, and one another, and ex-Managing Director in Financial Services, who made a lot of bold moves forging her path in the US and UK. With over a decade advising corporates and private equity on strategic challenges and developing fintech SaaS products, Anh now partners with 180+ institutions across the UK, Netherlands, and Canada to make the arts more approachable and inclusive. Nimi has been featured by AirBnb as one of the best things to do in London.
The Event
The most common question we get is "How did you actually do it?" How did we pivot from one company to the next, from one role to a very different one, from being on a sponsored visa to becoming people managers and Directors, and in Anh's case, all the way to founding her own company? How did we make the bold moves that opened doors and changed the shape of our careers?
This evening is the long answer. We'll walk you through each pivot, the specific moves we made, the decisions we got right, the ones we got wrong, and what we'd tell our younger selves at each stage. Then we'll spend time on your questions and in conversation with each other.
