Just Hang: LNY Dumpling Workshop

​Join Studio Bumi for a hands-on evening of food and community as we celebrate Lunar New Year together, hosted by our friend, Becca Wong! In honor of the Year of the Horse, we’ll gather around the table to learn how to fold dumplings — a tradition that symbolizes prosperity, luck, and togetherness in the year ahead.

​You’ll be guided step-by-step through the folding process before enjoying your handmade dumplings steamed or pan-fried to crispy perfection. After cooking, head to our custom sauce bar to mix and match your own dips!

​All ingredients and supplies are provided — just bring your appetite and an open mind. We encourage everyone to wear red for good luck as we welcome the new year with warmth, intention, and community.

​Becca Wong spends her 9-5 as a research scientist, and her 5-9 exploring the art of gathering. She loves meeting new people, building community, sharing meaningful meals, and learning new things.

​This is Becca’s fourth time hosting dumpling-making for Chinese New Year using her grandmother’s recipe, and she is excited to bring this event to Studio Bumi!

​Becca is running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon with the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault, and funds from this event will go toward her fundraising goal.
