Talk Description:
Have you ever wondered how narrative (words) change your mind? Or about how words drive you to change your own thinking and behavior?
Your brain—my brain—the brain of every person you need to affect———are all physically hardwired to make sense of incoming information in specific story-based terms. It took over 3 decades of work to prove it. However, it is now clear that we are really homo narratus—story animals. Our brains make sense of the world in specific story-based terms. We create meaning through story structures.
In this presentation, we’ll look at exactly how narratives (stories) have the amazing impact that they do—not by looking at stories, but by looking at what happens inside your own brain as narrative information first arrives.
Kendall Haven is an internationally recognized expert in the science of story and founder of the field of neural story science.
Learn how the brain translates physical reality into impact, influence, and effect. What it takes to control the core elements dictating influence and see how story elements control your own perceptions!
