🏔️ Laidlaw Switzerland — Oeschinensee Hike!

​As the Swiss mountains finally shake off winter, we're heading to one of the most stunning glacier lakes in the Alps — Oeschinensee — for a Laidlaw community day out! 🥾

​Whether you're a current EPFL scholar, a recent alum passing through Switzerland, or just someone who hasn't seen enough of this country yet, come join us for trails, good conversation, and well-earned views.

​Open to all Laidlaw cohorts at EPFL and any alumni or scholars nearby — Geneva, Zurich, Basel, Bern, wherever you're based 🚞

​Cost per person (estimate)

• ​~20 CHF — SBB Friend Pass share (80 CHF total / 4 people)

• ​18.5 CHF — Telecabine up (optional — skip it if you're feeling sporty!)

• ​Lunch — pack your own 🧺

​You don't need to travel with the Lausanne group. Form your own Friend Pass group of 4 from anywhere in Switzerland and meet us there!

​How it works

​We set off together from Lausanne main station (exact time TBC). Train to Kandersteg, then walk or telecabine up to the lake. Hike, picnic, and catch the train home in the evening.

​What to bring: hiking shoes, layers, lunch & snacks, water, sunscreen, and good energy.
