UT Energy X Prototown
An on-site look at hard-tech building in practice for UT Austin's top energy and entrepreneurship students.
Prototown is the best example in Texas of startups going from idea to physical testing, and most students never see that up close.
The goal: inspire the next wave of Texas energy founders and engineers, and put Prototown in front of the talent pipeline its tenants will be hiring from.
Who's coming: about 30 undergraduate and graduate students in engineering, business and policy, drawn from UT's energy and entrepreneurship programs, plus faculty and program staff from the UT Energy Institute, the Brumley Institute for Graduate Entrepreneurship (McCombs), the KBH Energy Center, and TEX-E.
$1 commitment fee to hold your spot — limited to 30, lunch provided by sponsors and count is ordered off this list.
Schedule:
12:00 - Arrive, welcome and lunch
12:15 - Intro to Prototown: the vision, who's building there, and what's next
12:35 - Site walk, with short stops at tenant facilities where possible
1:30 - Wrap-up and depart
Logistics: students drive themselves or carpool.
