Book Swap!
Join us for a free community book swap! Bring gently used books from your collection and exchange them for others you'll love. We're keeping it intimate with just 20 spots, so registration is required.
How it works: Each book you bring earns you one swap ticket. Pristine condition hardcovers are worth 2 tickets. Trade your tickets for books from our collective collection—first come, first served. You're welcome to bring up to 5 books and take home up to 5 books (or swap fewer, totally fine).
Book guidelines: We're accepting fiction, plays, poetry, sci-fi, romance, philosophy, psychology, myth, occult, TV/film, music, sex & gender studies, religion, art theory, true crime, lit-fic, nonfiction, hobbies & interests, cooking, graphic novels, manga, memoir, social sciences, history, arts.
What we're not accepting: Kids books, YA, textbooks, mind/body/spirit, parenting, relationships, self-help, law, heavily damaged books, or books with extensive markings.
Books should be in good condition—no water damage, torn pages, or missing covers.
Leftover books: If you bring books and don't find anything to swap for, you're welcome to take your books back home. Any books left unclaimed at the end of the event can be donated to our free library.
The vibe: This is a judgment-free zone. Swap at your own pace, chat with other book lovers, and find your next read.
Details: Sunday, January 18 | Arrive by 10:30am, swap starts at 11:00am | Book People, 1640 Queen Street West Free | Registration required
