About Event

Your own project is always the first thing to get bumped. Client work has a deadline, your job has a manager, and the thing you actually want to build has neither.

Most of us already know what to do, because YouTube and ChatGPT took care of that part. What's missing is someone who notices when you go quiet for three weeks.

The Builders Circle sprint is 10 weeks of exactly that. You pick one project, say out loud where you want it to be by December, and show up every Monday to report on it.

How the 10 weeks go

  • Week 1: you set your goal and we map the first four weeks.

  • Weeks 2 to 5: the first roadmap.

  • Weeks 6 to 9: a second roadmap, rebuilt on what the first one taught you.

  • Week 10: results and a retro on December 7, wrapped up early so nobody is finishing things on December 23.

What a Monday call looks like

Everyone shares what got done, where they got stuck and where focus slipped. If you want the group's brain on something, you bring a five-minute brief with the blocker and your ask. You leave with a to-do list for the week. Wins and questions go into our Telegram group between calls.

11 builders are in this round, and we expect 7 to 10 on any given Monday. The floor goes first come, first served, so showing up on time pays off.

What you sign up for

Two to three hours a week on your project, so it fits next to a job and a life. The project can be a startup, a side business, an app, a newsletter or a work task, as long as it isn't under NDA.

House rules

  • What's shared in the group stays in the group.

  • Nobody borrows someone else's idea without asking.

  • We don't compare projects, because they are all at different stages.

  • Priorities shift, and we only ask that you say so when yours do.

Don't expect lectures or mentoring here. Gaukhar Dossova keeps the sprint on track as a project manager, and the feedback comes from the other builders. The startup that hired her as a product manager ended up making her a co-founder.

We meet on Mondays at 6:30 PM ET, from October 5 through December 7 🛠️

This round is full. The next cohort starts in January.

Looking forward to seeing you all!
