Midlands Innovation Repair Shop - Safety Critical Role Holder Surgery
The University of Nottingham is pleased to host a Safety Critical Role Holder Surgery for Midlands Innovation universities. This collaborative event provides an opportunity for colleagues with safety responsibilities to network, share good practice, and access expert advice on a range of specialist health and safety topics. Representatives from key safety disciplines will be available throughout the event, including Gas and Cryogen Safety Coordinators, Biological Safety Advisors, Spills Coordinators, Chemical Safety Coordinators, Machine/PUWER Safety Coordinators, Lifting/LOLER Coordinators, Laser Safety Coordinators, Radiation Safety Coordinators, and Electrical Safety Coordinators.
Each safety role holder will host an information stand where attendees can drop in to discuss specific questions, challenges, or areas of interest, and explore specialist research equipment through live demonstrations and hands-on guidance from expert technicians. In addition to informal one-to-one conversations, role holders will facilitate small-group surgery sessions, providing a forum to explore subject-specific themes, exchange experiences, and seek practical guidance. Whether attendees are looking for advice on compliance, best practice, or emerging issues within their specialist area, the event offers a valuable opportunity to connect with peers and enhance safety knowledge across the Midlands Innovation group.
A free buffet lunch will be provided, offering additional opportunities for informal networking and discussion with colleagues from across the partnership.
We will also be opening the University of Nottingham's Virtual Reality Teaching Facility, the largest VR teaching facility in the UK, showcasing the latest advances in immersive learning and digital innovation. Don't miss this opportunity to step inside the facility, try the technology for yourself, and experience first hand how virtual reality is helping shape the future of education, research and industry.
