Between What We Feel & What We Say

This is a bilingual Chinese-English workshop
⬇️ English description below

Between What We Feel & What We Say

Have you ever wanted to say something—but held back?

Or said what you wanted to say, only to realize that the other person heard something very different from what you intended?

Sometimes we stay silent. Sometimes we speak, but don't quite feel understood. And somewhere between what we feel and what we say, there is often a space worth exploring.

Between What We Feel & What We Say is a three-hour bilingual, interactive workshop exploring what happens when we want to express ourselves but feel hesitant, uncertain, stuck, or misunderstood.

Through individual reflection, conversations in pairs and small groups, interactive exercises, and elements of applied improv, we'll experiment with different ways of responding and discover what other possibilities might exist in those challenging moments.

You're invited to bring a real experience with you: a conversation that never happened, a moment when you felt misunderstood, or an interaction you're still not sure how to navigate.

Together, we'll explore a simple question:

What else might have been possible?

No improv, performance, or communication-training experience is required. Throughout the workshop, you'll always have a choice about how much you want to share and participate. You're also welcome to observe an exercise rather than take part. Our aim is to create a respectful, non-judgmental environment where everyone can engage at their own pace.

[Who This Workshop Is For]

This workshop is for you if you:

  • Want to better understand how you express yourself and respond in relationships

  • Often find yourself thinking, “I didn’t know how to say it in the moment, but I knew what I wanted to say afterward.”

  • Want to express your true thoughts and feelings, but worry about hurting the relationship or triggering conflict

  • Feel stuck or uncertain in communication with family, partners, friends, or colleagues

  • Want to explore different ways of communicating rather than simply learning a set of “right” phrases

  • Are curious about improv, role-play, experiential learning, or self-exploration

No previous improv or drama experience is required.
