Field Notes: Coffee & Conversation

​I've spent two years sitting across from people for three hours at a time, camera in one hand, coffee going cold in the other. Around fifty people so far. I've learned that the right question changes the whole room, and I've asked a LOT of wrong ones to find that out.

​These are the questions I actually use in Field Notes sessions. I'll show you how I ask them, why they work, and what I listen for once someone starts answering. Then we practice on each other. Strangers, coffee, and a little nerve.
