With your instructor, Samyuktha, come learn about kashayam — an ayurvedic decoction commonly used in South India and Bengal, created through boiling herbs to create a potent herbal remedy for anything from colds, post-partum support, digestion, reducing inflammation, and improving circulation.
Also called kwath or kada, kashyams date all the way back to ancient Sanskrit texts from the first millennium BCE, and are often made with tulsi (holy basil) and chukku (dried ginger), with various regional variations we will explore together.
You'll be able to take home kashayam decoctions tailored to your health goals, and we’ll also have honey made right here in Chicago from our beekeeping instructor Oscar!
