Pacific Fusion Info Session
Hosted by IEEE at Cornell
Fusion careers start earlier than you might think. Hear from Ashwyn Sam, who started as a Pacific Fusion intern and now uses computer simulations to help design and analyze our fusion experiments, and from Steph Parks from our talent team, who’ll walk you through how we hire emerging talent and where you might fit.
We’re unapologetically ambitious: we’re building a machine to do something no one has done before. Getting there takes engineers, physicists, builders, and problem-solvers from every technical background, and no fusion experience is required to start.
What you’ll learn
Where our roles are, and what each team actually works on
How our hiring process works, from application to offer
What we look for in interns and early-career hires, and what you can do now to prepare
Our values
Support each other · Pursue the truth · Encourage creative approaches · Commit to impact
Who should come
Undergraduates in any year and any technical field. No fusion background needed.
About Pacific Fusion
Our mission is to deliver affordable, abundant, clean energy to the electrical grid with pulsed-power inertial fusion. We’re building a system from modular, manufacturable parts, and our Demonstration System aims to reach net facility gain by 2030: more fusion energy out than all the energy stored to fire the machine, a milestone no one has achieved yet.
