Each dish she prepares evokes the flavors and memories they passed down to her, filling her with warmth and a sense of family. Gwen, the other co-founder of Smiling Boqie and a mother of two daughters, has embarked on her own culinary journey to create cherished flavor memories for her children. Together, they hope to share these emotions and experiences through Smiling Tomato—connecting families through stories and memories built around food.

​Smiling Boqie is more than just a brand; it’s a community that advocates for sustainable living and mindful consumption. We are dedicated to bringing together eco-friendly initiatives and the development of farmer-supported products, creating a vibrant collective where beauty, joy, and a heartfelt sense of belonging can naturally flourish.

​In the upcoming cross-cultural recipe exchange, Mika and Gwen will be sharing dozens of recipes they’ve gathered from past events. They look forward to exchanging family recipes and sharing those precious traditions and memories, helping everyone discover their own stories through food.

​Both believe that food is not only a way to nourish the body but also a vessel for preserving culture and emotion. Through this event, Mika and Gwen hope to create a warm community where people can find joy and belonging in sharing, while embodying the spirit of Smiling Boqie—planting the seeds of kindness and sustainability in every home.
