Wild Ones: Guided Nature Play for Toddlers and their Grown-ups

Forest school-inspired activities, plenty of room to roam, and a warm community of local families. Weekly sessions in Wandsworth Common.

When: Select Monday and Friday afternoons, 3:30 - 4:30

Where: Wandsworth Common (exact meeting point shared after RSVP)

Length: 60 minutes

Group size: 4–6 families per session.

  • All carers are welcome (nannies, childminders, grandparents, and other grown-ups)

  • Babies in carriers are welcome (grown-up carried)

Cost: Free for the first few pilot sessions while we learn what families love most

This is for you if…

  • You have a toddler (2+) who loves being outdoors (or needs a little nudge to warm up)

  • You want something gentle and guided, with plenty of freedom to roam

  • You’d love a local rhythm that gets you outside and meeting other families who value time together outdoors

Not for you if…

  • You’re looking for drop-off childcare

  • You want a “sit still and listen” class

  • You’re hoping for something highly structured

  • You want a strenuous hike

A simple structure:

  • Arrive + orient: A friendly arrival circle so you know what’s happening

  • Roam + explore: Toddler-led nature play with gentle guidance, facilitation, and clear boundaries

  • A small moment of seasonal magic: One simple seasonal activity (nature noticing, collecting, tiny activities)

  • Close + connect: Space for toddlers to climb, splash, and explore, plus low-pressure connection with other grown-ups

You’ll leave with…

  • A simple weekly rhythm that gets you outdoors, without overthinking it

  • A toddler who’s had space to be wild, curious, and fully themselves

  • A few easy nature-play ideas you can reuse between sessions

  • A warmer sense of local community (even if you’re not feeling particularly social)

About your guide
I’m Anique Coffee, founder of Wild Ones. I spend a lot of my time outside, using nature as a space for reflection and recalibration in my work with leaders. Over the years, I’ve seen how being outdoors helps us soften, widen our perspective, and come back to what matters.

When I became a mum, I found myself craving that same feeling, but in a way that worked for real life with a toddler. I wanted screen-free, nature-filled afternoons I could share with my almost-three-year-old, with a little bit of structure and a lot of room to roam.

Wild Ones is what I wished existed: forest school-inspired nature play for toddlers (2+) and their grown-ups. Afternoons where toddlers can be wild, curious, and fully themselves, guided by the presence of their grown-ups. A simple weekly rhythm in the woods, gentle guidance and clear boundaries, and a warm community of local families to grow alongside.

Come for the wonder. Stay for the community.

Who is this for? Toddlers (2+) and their grown-ups. All carers are welcome: parents, grandparents, nannies, childminders, and others.

Where exactly do we meet? Wandsworth Common. The exact meeting point will be shared after you RSVP.

How long is the session? 60 minutes.

Is this drop-off? No. Grown-ups stay responsible for their child throughout.

What should we bring? Weather-appropriate layers (including rain gear), comfy shoes, snack/water, and whatever you normally need for outdoor toddler time.

What’s the weather policy? We go ahead in light rain (please dress accordingly). We’ll cancel in heavy rain or high winds.

Is it okay if my toddler is shy has big feelings / doesn’t “join in”? Yes. This is toddler-led and gently facilitated. There’s no expectation to perform or participate in a particular way.

Can I come with a baby as well? Yes — babies in carriers are welcome (grown-up carried).
