About Event
Michael Sheehy turns to the Kālacakra tradition's distinctive conception of dark retreat. Drawing on his work with the Jonang lineage and his broader research at the intersection of historical scholarship, phenomenology, and cognitive science, he opens the framework that Kālacakra brings to darkness practice. Michael R. Sheehy, Ph.D. is Research Associate Professor and Director of Research at the Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia, founding director of CIRCL, and co-founder and Executive Director of the Jonang Foundation. He has spent more than a decade in field research preserving rare Tibetan manuscripts across the plateau.
