The Inaugural Private Equity and M&A Society (PEMA) Panel

​Hear from a panel of industry leading professionals and entrepreneurs representing every stage of a typical PE transaction.

​The Inaugural PEMA Event will feature a panel discussion, Q&A and networking opportunity. Guests will gain an insight to how deals are sourced, structured and grown, along with candid reflections on careers and the state of the current deal market.

​Panelists include:

• ​Nick Benson

  • ​Nick is Partner in Baker McKenzie's Private Equity & Funds group. With over 25 years experience in private capital, Nick is regularly cited as a leading investment funds lawyer by Chambers, the Legal 500 and other independent publications. Before Baker McKenzie, Nick served as a Partner at Latham & Watkins, Weil Gotshal and Manges, and Clifford Chance.

• ​Mike Hinchliffe

  • ​Former Partner and Head of Private Equity at Addleshaw Goddard with 25+ years’ experience, advising on 100+ transactions (up to £1bn+). Mike more than doubled practice revenues and helped grow international income to ~25%, building a high-growth, cross-border practice and strong sponsor relationships.

• ​Dr Zahid Moneer, PhD MPhil MBA

  • ​Head of Global Healthcare at Akur Capital, a leading independent M&A Platform in Mayfair. Zahid has raised more than $350bn globally in value though M&A and capital raises over 20 years with multiple major investment banks including BNP Paribas, HSBC and Nomura International. He serves as a Senior Board advisor for Vitonnix, Benta Group and AskMedi and is an Honorary Fellow at Cambridge Judge Business School.

• ​Mariam Ahmed

  • ​Forbes 30 under 30 Founder of Menza which helps brands and CPG’s conquer their data. Mariam was a part of the Y-Combinator Summer 2023 Cohort. She is an ex-Goldman Sachs Global Markets Analyst and serves as a current Venture Partner at The Tech Bros.

• ​Tahnoon Murtza

  • ​Founding Partner of Grey Sheep Ventures which is a celebrity Venture Capital Firm. Tahnoon is an ex-Partner of Brock Capital, who has managed 30 billion USD, where Tahnoon was the Youngest PE Partner at just 21 years old.

• ​Raphaelle Thayan

  • ​@ValuebyRaph across social media who makes viral content on Private Equity, market trends and current deals. Raphaelle is a former Investment professional at CVC Credit and Santander with 5+ years’ experience across private credit and leveraged finance, progressing to Investment Executive. Raphaelle has a track record in European sponsor-backed deals and complex financings. She now leads international strategy and partnerships at board level at Kingsley Healthcare Group.
