Sociobioeconomy as a powerful community-focused Implementation Pathway for the Global Biodiversity Framework and Rio Convention Synergies

​Four years into the Global Biodiversity Framework, the CBD is firmly focused on the implementation of practical measures to achieve real progress on its goals and targets. This session will illustrate the powerful framework of the sociobioeconomy and explore opportunities for community-led forest economies to simultaneously help deliver biodiversity, climate and sustainable livelihoods.

​The discussion will bring together government delegates, representatives of Indigenous Peoples and local communities, international organizations and bioeconomy practitioners from the Amazon, Congo Basin and Southeast Asia.
