// Defending the Data - The War Against Scraping - Ben Haran, Head Tech Lead at DoorLoop
There’s an ongoing exhaustion war that many closed apps and products aren’t exposed to - data scraping.
In this session we’ll discover who are the battling sides, the goals (from market intelligence to AI training) and learn why it’s a war of perseverance, since scraping is not something you could ever fully prevent. We’ll cover the various attack methods and dive into technical prevention maneuvers in defense of the data.
About the speaker:
Ben Haran is the Head Tech Lead at DoorLoop, where he leads the company’s applicative infrastructure and drives technical excellence across the R&D organization. A web developer since the late ’90s, Ben has been writing JavaScript for as long as he can remember. Before joining DoorLoop, he held key roles at Waltz and investing.com, where he established and led the frontend domain from the ground up. Ben is a retired ski instructor, and when not coding you may find him playing chess.
