About Event

Topic for 3rd August (Sunday) : Dymistifying Meditation : Exploring the Essence of Meditation

Meditation has long been misunderstood — often boxed into techniques, postures, or religious rituals. In this 2-hour experiential meetup, we invite you to drop the labels and explore the essence of meditation — not as something to do, but something to realize.

✨ What to Expect

This gathering is not a how-to workshop, but rather a gentle inquiry into:

  • What is meditation, really? and what it is not?

  • Is it a practice, a state, or a natural way of being?

  • How does one distinguish stillness from silence, or effort from awareness?

We’ll explore how meditation is not about stopping thoughts or controlling the mind, but becoming intimate with the moment as it is — without resistance.

🌀 Key Themes We Will Touch Upon

  • The myth of the “perfect” meditator

  • The difference between different technique-based practices and the common thread

  • How the body and breath can become portals to presence

  • Common traps like trying too hard, spiritual bypassing, or chasing experiences

  • Meditation beyond the cushion — walking, working, listening meditatively

  • Touching the formless — the non-dual aspect of awareness

🧘‍♂️ Flow of the Meetup

  1. Opening Circle & Grounding (10 Mins)
Settle into the space with a short stillness practice and a group check-in.

  2. Talk: The Essence of Meditation (15 Mins)
A reflective talk delving into what meditation is (and isn’t), with real-life metaphors and ancient pointers.

  3. Guided Exploration (15 Mins)
A deep, simple guided meditation — focusing on awareness, breath, and observing the inner landscape.

  4. Discussion & Inquiry (30 Mins)
A heartful conversation — bring your questions, confusions, insights or resistance to the circle.

  5. Break (5 mins)
A short pause to stretch, sip, and integrate.

  6. Meditation in Everyday Life (20 Minutes)
Experiencing meditation in action — in walking, listening, or Work: daily tasks.

  7. Closing Sit & Reflections (20 Mins)
A silent sitting, followed by journaling and optional sharing.

  8. Closing Circle (10 mins)
What landed, what shifted — and what will you take back with you?
