Museum of the Weird & Happy Chicks - Double Feature!
WHAT: Join Mitchell and Amanda for a Halloween-week double feature on 6th Street. We will start with the Museum of the Weird (an old-fashioned museum of oddities, in the tradition of P.T. Barnum) located inside the Lucky Lizard Curios & Gifts shop). We'll do a tour/scavenger hunt and pop over to Happy Chicks, a local spot known for chicken tenders, fried chicken, and chicken sandwiches.
The museum's collection includes mummies, mermaids, fossils, cryptids (legendary creatures like Bigfoot), shrunken heads, movie props, and a wax museum of movie monsters featuring a giant King Kong!
*There is a cost to this event. Please bring $13 for your admission ticket, plus extra $[~15] for a snack or lunch at Happy Chicks. You can view their menu here. If money is a barrier to joining us, please reach out to ATX NCC before the event, because we would rather you come.
WHO: This event is for adults who love the strange, the spooky, and the delightfully cheesy. Support persons are welcome, but please RSVP separately.

WHERE: We recommend drop-off/pick-up and will be out front of the Museum of the Weird from 12:50 until 1:00 to look for folks getting dropped off. You may also park at the nearby Littlefield Garage on Brazos St. and walk a few blocks over to us (see map, with museum depicted on the right side). Pick up will be at Happy Chicks, just west on the same street.
ACCESSIBILITY: The museum is small and packed with displays, and some exhibits are designed to be spooky or a little startling. Some displays also include preserved remains, such as mummies and shrunken heads. You are always welcome to skip a room, wait in the gift shop, or step outside.
Happy Chicks has a feel somewhere between a fast-food spot and a sports bar, so it may have TVs and music, though early afternoon is usually much calmer than evening. Ordering is at the counter. If you would like someone to walk up with you or help with ordering, just ask.
