MEL Peer Support Meeting: Semi-Structured Interviews

​In April’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning meeting we’ll talk about qualitative MEL tools. What are the benefits and when should you use them? We will zoom in on semi-structured interviews (SSIs).

​Semi-structured interviews are a great tool for exploratory research. They are interactive and can provide deeper insights about your research topic and target group. SSIs often lead to new ideas, knowledge, or even solutions! However, they are also time-consuming, you need experience to conduct them well, and the small sample sizes give you low confidence about generalizability to the population.

Every month The Mission Motor organizes discussions and lectures on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning for animal and vegan advocacy charities. We talk about challenges, share knowledge, and develop a community around MEL-related topics specifically to helping animals.

After each session, we will share the presentation and a recap of the discussion in #s-mel channel of IAA Slack. The sessions are not recorded to create a safe space for sharing and asking questions.
