Making Salves (and other skin magic)
Skin is our largest organ! On a microscopic level, it's a harsh landscape of bright light, temperature extremes and constant disturbance, but it teems with life. It's a place of exchange, where we meet the world. We can give our bodies plant medicine through our skin. We can heal skin wounds, ease nerve pain and cramps, and make our skin glow all pretty with herbs.
In this workshop, we'll learn about the life of the skin, forms of medicine that work with the skin, and herbs that have a particular affinity for the skin. We'll make a skin healing salve which you'll be able to take home with you!
This workshop is sliding scale. $15 funds my work and the materials needed for each person. $25 will fund your materials and those of a neighbor :) Anything beyond that will put towards future classes. If you want to pay in cash or Venmo, text me at 347-687-1170.
If you sign up but later decide you can't make it, please let me know before the workshop so I know how much material to get.
This will happen at the Astoria Food Pantry. If you have any clean clothes or excess food you want re-home, bring them!
