Athera’s Gambit - The Third Move ♟️
Two years running, we’ve watched investors trade term sheets for chess clocks, and the results have been nothing short of electric. In 2024, Sudarshan from z21 Ventures took the first crown. Last year, Viraj from Premji Invest out-thought the field to win it. Now the question is: who takes the trophy this year?
This September, Athera’s Gambit returns for its third edition. What started as a friendly chess evening has become our annual gathering of investors from across India’s VC and investing community. This year, we’re bringing it back with AWS for another evening where off-board strategy meets on-board strategy.
What to expect:
Multiple rapid rounds in Swiss format. You play every round, win or lose, so the chess and conversations run throughout the evening.
A room full of investors and founders from across the ecosystem, with plenty of friendly competition along the way.
Dinner and drinks after the games, with an opportunity to catch up with friends and peers from across the ecosystem.
Whether you play regularly or haven’t touched a chessboard in years, come rediscover the game, enjoy a few competitive rounds, or just spend an evening with the ecosystem.
(Swiss format: each round you face someone on a similar score. Nobody is knocked out, and final standings are based on total points.)
