Peter Street Basin: Summer Solstice Safetymaking Symposium
Peter Street Basin: Summer Solstice Safetymaking Symposium for paddling, rowing, Safetyballing, and ball soccer.
Some of us are getting together to do some safety drills, safetyballing, and safetyboarding in Peter Street Basin which is an important safety feature for paddlers and rowers in Toronto Harbour. Join us to learn about some of the safety features of Peter Street Basin.
In the event of a storm or rough water, or simply when we're in need of a rest, we paddle into the Basin to rest, wait out the storm, or to exit to safety. If arriving by paddleboard, paddle under the Queens Quay bridge and stay low so as not to disturb any of the birds.
After entering the Basin you will see that there are two exits, each with a 5.9m long safetyrail, one on the East side and one on the West side.
We'll meet at "Wexit" (West Exit safetyrail) and review the basics of Safetyballing and Safetyboarding (minature version of the standard rescue board).
Join us for an informal get-together among friends. This is not a formal event, it is just some friends getting together to share our safety-strategy on how we paddle and row safely in Toronto Harbour.
