About Event

Our ability to meet life's challenges is capped by our emotional capacity. It's much easier to handle an upset roommate or a friend cancelling on us when we're feeling well-rested and grounded than when we're already overwhelmed. By deepening our ability to ground and resource ourselves, we can expand our emotional capacity — and with it, meet more of life's challenges.

Join us for a sweet, gentle evening of building emotional capacity through guided activities. What fills my cup? What drains me? How can I find rhythms of resource in my relationships?

You'll leave with tools for resourcing yourself emotionally in the context of relationships — and maybe feeling like you just got a long professional massage, or lunch with an old friend.

Agenda

  • Short introduction

  • A simple yet powerful tool for peer support when you're feeling overwhelmed

  • An activity on learning about your own desires, beliefs, and needs in relationships

  • A guided meditation on resourcing and grounding

Event details

  • Please bring a yoga mat or anything else that will help you feel comfy and cozy for the lying down portion.

  • You are welcome to come alone or with friends.

  • Everything we offer at this workshop will be an opt-in invitation, and your no will always be honored.

About Your Facilitator: Sarah Cruse

Sarah has been with Sleepawake since 2023, leading both our emotional and relational curriculum and our creative expression curriculum at almost every retreat we’ve ever run. As a young repressed and depressed adult, trying to find her way out of patterns of personal and familial trauma, she found poetry and discovered the healing power of embodied truth, authentic voice and creative expression. Sarah now supports people and communities in activating their own inner creative pathways. Outside of Sleepawake, she is currently a practitioner of energetic medicine, sound healing and trauma clearing, and the lead singer of her band Yaya's Kitchen. Sarah is up for the adventure of whatever this evening together brings and delighted to be part of it with you.
