Prosperity Toss (Yee Sang) is a Malaysian Lunar New Year tradition where everyone gathers around a shared dish of shredded vegetables, fish, and sauces and tosses it high together with chopsticks, calling out wishes for luck, health, and prosperity.
The higher you toss, the better the fortune for the year ahead.
Popularized in the 1960s by chef Loke Ching Fatt in Seremban, Malaysia.
