r/Dayton Game Night + Taco Tuesday at Poppets
Join Dayton’s first game night at Poppets Coffee & Tea – and we’re keeping it low-key on purpose.
Join us for board games, card games, handcrafted drinks, and the El Buen Taco Truck parked right outside (Taco Tuesday 🌮). Whether you’ve played Catan a hundred times or you’ve literally never touched a board game, there’s a seat for you at the table.
You don’t need to be a gamer. You just need to show up.
Here’s a taste of what’s hitting the tables:
Dungeon Kart – Mario Kart as a board game. Yes, really.
Coup – Bluff your way to power. Quick rounds, maximum chaos.
Poetry for Neanderthals – Explain words using only one-syllable grunts. It’s as dumb and fun as it sounds.
Wavelength – A guessing game that starts arguments in the best way.
Monopoly - Destroy friends one hotel at a time.
Uno – You already know.
Plus a whole table of card games, dice games, and stuff you’ve never heard of. Jump in, rotate tables, or just sit and watch until you’re ready. No pressure.
Need a breather? We'll have a quiet room upstairs set aside just for this event – low light, no noise, blankets and fidgets available. Step away, decompress, and come back when you're ready. No explanation required.
Drinks: Poppets’ full coffee and tea menu is open, plus two special mocktails just for us:
🌷 Pink Tulip – Raspberry elderflower rosé herbal tea with sparkle and fizz
🍓 Strawberry Girl – Alantico lime green tea blended with strawberries and lemon
Food: Poppets doesn’t serve food – but El Buen Taco Truck will be outside all night. Get your Taco Tuesday on.
Parking: Park at the furniture store next door if the lot is full
See you there <3
PS: In the meantime, you can chat with everyone else coming and coordinate as it gets nearer in the r/Dayton Discord – our online hangout for locals.
We're at 1700+ members now. Book clubs, trivia teams, group hikes, new meetups every week. There's lots of deep convos about all kinds of topics happening all day. Even people vibing in voice channels together while they work.
All these meetups will be planned in there going forward.
When you join, say hey in #introduce-yourself and just drop your name, neighborhood, and what you're into.
