A career transition is often an identity transition first.
What happens when the career you worked so hard to build no longer feels like it belongs to the person you are becoming?
Career pivots can look practical from the outside — a new role, a new industry, leaving something behind, starting again.
But underneath, they often ask much bigger questions.
Who am I without the title I spent years building?
How do I know whether I’m genuinely ready for change — or just tired?
What parts of me belong to one chapter, and what travels with me into the next?
In this Lady’s Lab, we’ll explore what career change can teach us about identity, courage, belonging and the common thread that runs through all the different versions of ourselves.
Together, we’ll ask:
What changed in your life before your work stopped fitting?
What are you holding onto simply because you worked hard to build it?
What has followed you through every chapter of your career?
What are you curious about that you keep dismissing because it doesn’t yet look practical?
How do you build an identity that is stronger than your job title?
We’ll finish with one simple exercise:
One thing that no longer fits.
One thing that travels with me.
One conversation I will have next.
Not a five-year plan.
Just one small move toward whatever is trying to emerge.
Meet Juliana Naranjo Pereira
Juliana is a Future of Work Humanist, community builder, TEDx speaker and co-author of Pivot-Quest.
She has navigated eight career pivots herself and spent the last three years interviewing more than 100 career pivoters across 25 countries to understand what really happens when work no longer fits.
Her work is about helping people find the common thread that connects different chapters of their lives — and build careers they don’t keep outgrowing.
Her message is simple:
A pivot isn’t reinvention. It’s revelation.
And one of the ideas at the heart of her work is this:
