Is AI Becoming Too Dangerous?
You might have heard that recently an unreleased AI model from OpenAI broke out of the lab and autonomously launched a felony-level cyberattack against a third party company, completely unbeknownst to its creators.
At the same time, you might have also read reports about how progress in AI capabilities is showing no sign of slowing down, while more and more money is being poured into making AIs smarter.
What happens in the next couple of years, when AI continues to become much smarter, and its creators cannot figure out how to control or contain it? What happens to human society when agents that are far more intelligent than top experts at everything from politics to persuasion take actions on their own?
We are organizing a general talk and discussion session with top AI Safety researchers about these topics.
We will discuss what exactly the threat is, why it matters, and what can we do.
Everyone is welcome, no prior experience in AI is required.
