The Brooklyn Pinewood Derby
The Brooklyn Pinewood Derby is a day party and DIY competition for tiny cars and big dreams. Build the fastest, weirdest, or sexiest miniature car you can dream up and compete to win the very big, very real trophy we are having custom made.
If you weren’t in the Cub Scouts and have never felt the thrill of cheering on banana-sized cars whoosh down a track, come experience our grown-up version featuring drinks, live music, prizes, crowd-voted awards, and trash talkin' at Rubulad, a magical venue in the heart of Bushwick.
Yeah it’s Father’s Day. We know. Bring your Dad he gets in free.

RULES
Let's start with the most important clarification: pinewood derby cars are banana-sized cars. This is not the Little Rascals and no humans will be racing in this competition (that's a soapbox car).
This is a single-elimination, bracket style competition. Cars will be split into two divisions - Classic and Freeform - and race one-on-one heats, with the winner moving onto the next round.
Cars have to fit the specific size and weight requirements for their division. Cars have to roll on their own down the ramp, no engines or pushing, and must have wheels. No spherical objects like fruit or balls unless wheels are attached.
