Next Innings

​Recently, recruiters from Google and Amazon reached out to me regarding senior leadership opportunities. Refer to the FDEM roles in my recent post (https://tinyurl.com/y36tefy7).

​I was grateful for the conversations, but I politely declined.

​Not because they weren't incredible opportunities, but because I believe I can create something even more meaningful through Alumnx AI Labs, helping professionals and organizations embrace AI and prepare for what's next.

​But that's not the point of this post.

​The point is this.

​At a time when many experienced professionals are struggling to get interview calls despite sending out dozens, sometimes hundred of applications, I was receiving direct outreach from recruiters.

​That made me stop and ask myself:

​"What am I doing differently?"

​After reflecting on my own journey, I realized it wasn't just my years of experience.

​It was a combination of consistently building relevant skills, staying visible, sharing what I learn, solving real-world problems, investing in my professional network, and continuously adapting to where the industry is headed.

​Unfortunately, many brilliant professionals only start thinking about these things after they're impacted by a layoff.

​I don't think it has to be that way.
