About the organizers:
Culture of Cities Studio: The Culture of Cities Studio is a Toronto-based creative collective that facilitates collaboration among innovative chefs, mixologists, and artists. Through curated events and experiences, the studio recognizes the hospitality industry as the heart of arts and culture in Toronto. IG: @cultureofcities
The Society of Hospitality Workers: The Society (of) Hospitality Workers is a democratic organization of workers who join together to collectively work towards better workplaces. Our objective is to have a unified voice as an industry, and to work towards better wages, benefits, safer working environments, and better treatment across the entire sector.
Our first initiative is a portable benefits program for all hospitality workers. Once we have 500 members, we can start approaching companies to work out a portable benefits package for all members. This does not affect your employer and does not require company wide enrolment.
