About Event

How do we build the clinical research workforce Africa needs to deliver more complex trials?

Strong clinical trials depend on people who can work through the realities of study delivery, maintain quality and respond to challenges as they arise. Building that capacity requires practical experience, continuous learning, mentorship and opportunities for research professionals to grow.

In August, our first roundtable, “Can Africa Deliver the Next Generation of Clinical Trials?”, brought together professionals across clinical research to discuss trial readiness, site capacity, participant experience, laboratory systems, monitoring, quality and the realities of delivering studies across African settings.

This time, we’re continuing the conversation with a fireside chat featuring Dr Mrs Ogo-Oluwa Terkaa, a Clinical Research Associate, as we explore what it takes to prepare research professionals for increasingly complex trials, the gaps between training and real-world experience, and how we can strengthen the clinical research workforce across Africa.

The conversation also leads into the Africa Clinical Research Ecosystem Summit (ACRES), an upcoming workshop focused on representation, talent development and the future of clinical trials in Africa.

If you’re a student exploring clinical research, a healthcare professional, an early-career researcher or an experienced professional working across the clinical research ecosystem, this is a conversation worth joining.
